PortaMon – Portable 3-channel NIRS device for measurement in muscles

PortaMon MkII, wireless Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) measurements on muscle tissue

PortaMon MkII: Near Infrared Spectroscopy on the go!

The PortaMon is our wireless and portable NIRS system for measurements on muscle tissue. The system measures changes in oxygenation in terms of oxyhemoglobin, deoxyhemoglobin and total hemoglobin, which is an indication of the blood volume in the muscle. Furthermore, it calculates the tissue saturation index (TSI), which reflects the average saturation of the underlying muscle tissue.

Key features:

  • Measures oxy-, deoxy-, and total hemoglobin
  • One receiver, three transmitters
  • Bluetooth connection to laptop up to 100 meters or on board data collection (+50 hours)
  • Wavelengths: Standard nominal 760 and 850 nm, others possible
  • 8 to 10 hours operation time on rechargeable/exchangeable battery
  • Lightweight with the size of a cell phone
  • Superior analysis software, Oxysoft
  • Optional built-in accelerometer and wireless event/sync device (PortaSync)
