Webinar | Hybrid Mobile Stroke Unit for prehospital management - acute stroke treatment and beyond

Implementation of mobile stroke units (MSUs) for prehospital acute stroke care is a recommended possibility to improve acute stroke management. However, in rural geographical regions with fewer stroke calls and larger catchment areas a rational and cost-efficient integration of single-purpose MSUs into regular health care is questionable. Therefore, extension of diagnostic and treatment capabilities to a hybrid MSU might be a possible option to increase efficiency. In this session, results of the first Hybrid-MSU, equipped with electroencephalography, radiography, ultrasonography, advanced laboratory testing, and on top of the usual MSU equipment will be presented. Feasibility of implementation, diagnostic success, treatment options and subsequent patient management will be discussed.
